As a showcase for the possibilities of virtual reality in the planning and visualization of construction projects, Heinrich Karstens Bauunternehmung in Kiel had its planned office extension created as a virtual model.

In VR, the building can be explored in model size or in its original size. In the model, the user can change the materials of the walls, floor and window frames via a 3D menu. The furniture can also be moved freely to try out different furnishing options.

A particularly impressive feature is the display of the surrounding area with existing buildings, which can be faded in and out in VR. For this feasibility study, Karstens captured the site in advance using a drone, converted it into a 3D model and made it available to us for the VR project.
